They were built under license in the UK from 1957-62, and there was a British company that built really good replicas of them from the 1980s, not sure if they’re still in business or not. Odd visual choice, but it could still technically be a domestic product.

Also, ironically the lower of the two union flags there is upside down.

The lower left of the St. Patrick’s Flag diagonal red lines should start from the bottom leading in, not from the side, in.

So from the top it says, ‘we’re British’, followed by, ‘in distress! ’.

Lots of British cars are/were German . Rolls-Royce, Bent ley, Rover . Land Rovers, MGs, and Morgans have all used German engines

Not since King George II (1727-1760) was a British monarch born in Germany or identified themselves as German. That’s 260 years.

Surely at some point they stop being German and become British.

Sorry. That one always irks me and it gets rolled out here and there.

Lol.

I hear it over here when people say, ‘why should I pay to keep them, when they aren’t even British’. The st rangest was a 26 year old Polish friend of mine who had moved to the U.K. some four-five years prior. I just gave him a funny look.

I mean, it works out at 50pence a year per person.

Yes, exactly. They haven’t even had claim to any German titles since, what, 1837? The real test is whether anyone actually from Germany would ever regard them as fellow Germans , it would be as absurd as someone from Italy recognizing me as an Italian simply because my great- grandparents came from there.

The Queen's mother was from Scotland, her father was from England, that's that.

Theyre actually more than self funding, when you realize the Crown Estate is still legally the Queen's personal property, but nearly all of its profits go into the government's general fund. The income she receives from the government is a small fraction of the profits it gets from her assets.
